Fenerbahce
Form & Tactical Outlook:
Fenerbahce are currently led by interim manager Dirk Kuyt, who took charge on October 28 following Ismail Kartal's resignation last month after a 2-1 defeat to Galatasaray. In his first game at the helm on Saturday, Kuyt's side suffered a 2-1 loss against Goztepe. The Turkish club are still searching for their first Champions League victory of the campaign, having recorded draws against Roma (1-1) and Slavia Prague (2-2) on either side of a 6-0 loss to Aston Villa. At home, Fenerbahce have suffered defeat in only one of their last five fixtures at Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.
Team News:
Central defenders Jayden Oosterwolde (hamstring injury) and Kojo Peprah Oppong (forced off against Goztepe) are both ruled out. Former Manchester City defender Nathan Ake is doubtful due to a muscle problem, meaning Archie Brown and Milan Skriniar could start in central defence, flanked by full-backs Mert Muldur and Munir Levent Mercan. Attacking midfielder Marco Asensio required knee surgery last month, leaving Mason Greenwood, Irfan Can Kahveci, and Oguz Aydin in line to operate behind striker Romelu Lukaku.
Liverpool
Form & Tactical Outlook:
Andoni Iraola's Liverpool enter Wednesday's fixture following a 1-0 home league defeat to Arsenal on Sunday. Prior to that loss, the Reds had registered five consecutive victories across all competitions after their 3-0 defeat against Manchester City on October 11, which included a 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion, a penalty-shootout win over Chelsea in the EFL Cup, and Champions League victories over LASK (6-3) and Villarreal (4-3 on October 20). Liverpool are undefeated away from home across the 2026-27 season (four wins, one draw), scoring 13 goals. In the Champions League standings, they sit third with nine points from three games.
Team News:
Midfielder Ryan Gravenberch will miss the match after sustaining a heel injury on Tuesday. Centre-back Giovanni Leoni remains sidelined as he recovers from an anterior cruciate ligament injury, while right-backs Conor Bradley (knee) and Jeremie Frimpong (hamstring) are also ruled out. In their absence, Ronald Araujo could start at right-back alongside Jeremy Jacquet, Virgil van Dijk, and Kostas Tsimikas. In attack, Hugo Ekitike is rehabilitating an Achilles injury sustained in April, while Lewis Koumas could enter the starting XI in place of striker Alexander Isak.
